Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to Lenoir County Criminal History. Visiting a page, reading its content, or using a search feature signifies acceptance of every term below. Anyone who does not agree should stop using the website.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no affiliation with a local, North Carolina, or federal government body. Neither it nor its advertising partners provides a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The resource points readers toward Lenoir County record custodians. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government connection. It neither stores official criminal records nor retrieves records, conducts official checks, or files documents for a visitor.

Its role is limited to directing readers to Lenoir County record custodians, including the sheriff, the criminal courts, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, and the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry, along with optional outside search tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use of the website is conditioned on the following limits:

  • Break any federal, state, or local law while using this site
  • Use information you find here to stalk, harass, or threaten anyone
  • Base hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on content from this site
  • Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have
  • Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against our pages
  • Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information found here or through a linked tool must not be used to harass, stalk, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate against anyone. Such conduct may be criminal. North Carolina Article 27A governs the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry. Registry information supports public safety awareness and does not authorize threats, vigilantism, or discriminatory conduct.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create credit reports, consumer reports, or official background checks. Our advertising partners do not turn this website into an FCRA service. Information from these pages or linked tools must not be used to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A legally permitted check for an FCRA-regulated purpose must come through a properly authorized, compliant provider. North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation checks are available to agencies only when statutory authority and an access agreement permit them; this website is never that official channel.

5. No Legal Advice

The material is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, or North Carolina expunction rule applies to a particular case. Only a licensed North Carolina attorney can provide advice about an individual situation.

6. No Warranties

All content and features are provided "as is." No guarantee is made that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Charges may be filed, amended, dismissed, restricted, or expunged after a page is published. Gaps and delays are possible. Nothing here is an official statement from a court, sheriff, or other government agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links can lead to sheriff pages, court portals, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Those destinations are beyond our control. We are not responsible for their availability, content, prices, or data handling, so review a destination's own terms before using it.

8. Intellectual Property

All text, graphics, logos, and code on this site belong to Lenoir County Criminal History or its content partners. Copying, distribution, modification, or derivative use requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for damage arising from use of the website or reliance on information obtained here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to hold us harmless against claims, proceedings, or demands caused by your use of the website or a violation of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

North Carolina law governs these terms. Any dispute connected to use of the website must be filed in a court located in North Carolina.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised. A revision becomes effective when the updated text is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or terminated at any time, with or without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected term will be adjusted only as much as necessary to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be submitted through the Contact page.
